 About the Internships at SU Victoria - SOAR Adventures
Each year SU Victoria’s SOAR Adventures seeks to appoint people committed and passionate about sharing the reality of their Christian faith with young people within the fun, vibrant atmosphere of an adventure-based setting. As an organisation our mission for youth ministry leadership positions is “to train volunteers to grow in spiritual maturity and be equipped with industry recognised leadership skills to lead young people in a range of different areas, and through this to demonstrate, share and shine the love of Jesus on young lives."

The Internship Mission
SU Victoria’s - SOAR Adventures’ Youth Ministry Positions, empower people to grasp, utilise and enlarge their God given gifts, talents and interests as they are immersed in Christian ministry. All Youth Ministry Leadership Positions incorporate Christian discipleship, leadership training and personal development. Completing a 12 month internship provides a massive stepping stone for future ministry, training and work.
Should I Apply?
Anyone who has a passion to impact this generation for God and enjoys a personal, living relationship with God through Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit in their life is welcome and encouraged to pursue a Youth Ministry Position with SU Victoria’s – SOAR Adventures. Previous experience and skills in camping and specialist outdoor activities are not essential however an appetite for adventure, a love for the outdoors, a passion for at-risk youth, good health and strong desire to be part of a committed team is essential. Unfortunately one restricting factor in apply for an internship position, is that you are not able to hold a higher education qualification than a Certificate II.
A Youth Ministry Position is full-on! It is demanding. However the rewards are massive and as we have witnessed over almost three decades, people are transformed through a 12 month internship.

"Working with SOAR adventures this year has opened my eyes to so much and it has been a blessing for me, to see first hand how God is working amongst and through young people. As the year has begun, I have enjoyed settling in to the mind set, the strategies and the aims behind SOAR Adventures. It’s been awesome to serve God in the front line and I have also loved being involved with things like organising camps. This year so far, has given me the courage and the strength to step up, testify my faith and to take a journey on a deeper level with the boys, as well as with my fellow staff. As I have come into the last term of the program with the boys, it has been exciting and encouraging to see the positive development and practises they are implementing in their lives and I am SOOOOOOO excited for the new SOAR Adventures who will start next year. What an opportunity it has been!!"
